Ready to start your own pili orchard? Proper land preparation is the first step to ensuring healthy, thriving trees and achieving a fruitful harvest! Start by digging holes with good drainage, especially if your soil is heavy, to prevent water from pooling around the roots while promoting strong growth.

While your pili trees are young, intercropping with small fruits like bananas, papayas, and pineapples, or annual crops like vegetables, can give you extra income and improve fertilizer efficiency. But as your trees mature, it’s best to stop intercropping to avoid competition for nutrients, sunlight, and water.

Planning your orchard layout is just as important. Choose the Square System for evenly spaced trees and easy maintenance, or the Rectangular System for a unique approach to spacing. With the right preparation and planning, your pili orchard will thrive for years to come!
